Highlights

Visit New York’s Holocaust museum, the third largest in the world.
Exhibitions illuminate Jewish history and experience and highlight the recorded testimonies of Holocaust survivors.
Garden of Stones, designed by internationally acclaimed sculptor Andy Goldsworthy, provides a contemplative space.
Now in its 24th year, The Museum of Jewish Heritage – A Living Memorial to the Holocaust is committed to the crucial mission of educating our diverse community about Jewish life before, during, and after the Holocaust. One of the largest independent Holocaust museums in the world, the Museum anchors the southernmost tip of Manhattan, completing the cultural and educational landscape it shares with the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.
The Museum of Jewish Heritage maintains a collection of almost 40,000 artifacts, photographs, documentary films, and survivor testimonies and contains classrooms, a 375-seat theater (Edmond J. Safra Hall), special exhibition galleries, a resource center for educators, and a memorial art installation, Garden of Stones, designed by internationally acclaimed sculptor Andy Goldsworthy. The Museum also owns JewishGen.org, the largest Jewish genealogy website and search tool; the Gerda III, a boat that saved over 300 Danish Jews and 600 Allied and resistance fighters during World War II, which is docked at Mystic Seaport; and is currently the home of National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene.
