Day 1: Arrive in Anchorage (Airport Code: ANC)

Today you will arrive in Anchorage, the largest city in Alaska. Known as the economic hub of "The Last Frontier", it is also Alaska's primary transportation hub. Upon arrival, you will check into the hotel for rest. (Hotel check-in in Alaska is available only after 15:00 local time.)

Day 2: Anchorage – Whittier – Anchorage

Whittier

Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel

Turnagain Arm

We plan to depart from the designated hotel at around 9:40 in the morning and head for Whittier, a military port town. Along the way, you can admire towering mountains, sparkling glaciers and shimmering lakes. Turnagain Arm winds its way through the landscape with picturesque scenery. After passing through the Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel, the 4.05-kilometer-long combined rail and road tunnel, the longest of its kind in North America, you will arrive in Whittier. You will visit the exterior of Begich Towers, the town’s most famous residential building, as well as the scenery of the military port pier (approximately 20 minutes in total). You will have the chance to take the Glacier Exploration Marine Wildlife Cruise* in Whittier (at your own expense, advance booking is recommended). We expect to return to Anchorage at around 20:00.

Whittier

As one of Alaska’s most distinctive towns, Whittier was once a military port during the Cold War. After being decommissioned, the military barracks were preserved and transformed into Begich Towers, one of America’s most unique residential buildings. Most of the town’s over 200 residents live here, and the building houses facilities including a school, post office and supermarket. Whittier also serves as a land hub leading to many renowned glacier scenic spots. Surrounded by peaks at an altitude of 3,500 feet (approximately 1,067 meters) and shrouded in clouds all year round, it was an ideal location for a military base during World War II. Today, it has become a deep-water home port for world-class cruise ships, attracting tourists from all over the globe.

Optional Tour: Glacier Exploration Marine Wildlife Cruise*

The round trip lasts about 3.75 hours, including a Western box lunch on board and English commentary.

You will board the cruise around noon and enjoy the magnificent snow-capped mountains and glaciers of Prince William Sound. The glacier faces are steep and sheer with countless cracks on the top, emitting a deep blue and faint glow under the refraction of sunlight. Low rumbling sounds can be heard from the glaciers from time to time, allowing you to witness the stunning moment of glacier calving up close. You can also get a close view of ice floes and the spectacular sight of glaciers flowing into the sea, and stand a chance to encounter various marine animals (sea lions, sea otters, seals, etc.) and local birds. It is recommended to bring warm outerwear, a hat and other warm accessories.

Day 3: Anchorage – Hatcher Pass – Anchorage

Anchorage

We plan to depart from the designated hotel at around 9:30 in the morning and drive to the scenic Hatcher Pass. Nestled between Palmer and Willow, the Hatcher Pass area boasts extremely abundant plant resources, serving as a paradise for locals to go outing for leisure and self-driving enthusiasts. Amid the rolling green mountains are alpine glacial lakes dotted with beautiful wildflowers, all embodying the grand and magnificent charm of Alaska. Just bring your camera, and you can capture stunning landscape photos effortlessly.

On the way, we will head to Independence Mine State Historical Park. The abandoned gold mining site no longer retains its former prosperity, and now it welcomes tourists with its unique retro style.

Afterwards, we will visit a local specialty microbrewery. In America's beer industry, Alaska holds an indispensable position with distinctive local brewery brands. You can not only learn a little about local beer brewing in Alaska but also taste fresh craft beer (beer tasting at your own expense; only guests aged 21 and above are allowed to drink alcohol, and a valid ID shall be presented upon request).

We expect to return to Anchorage between 17:00 and 17:30.

Day 4: Anchorage – Talkeetna – Anchorage

Talkeetna

Mount McKinley

We plan to depart from the designated hotel at 9:00 a.m. and head to Talkeetna, a gold-mining town at the foot of Denali. Upon arrival, we will proceed to the Talkeetna Ranger Station of Denali National Park to collect the daily visitor stamp (approximately 15 minutes), then go to the viewing platform to overlook Denali, the highest peak in North America (approximately 15 minutes). You may also freely explore the town's distinctive restaurants, art galleries, cafs and retro-style boutique shops.

Talkeetna offers a wealth of fun summer activities. If you wish to get a close-up view of Denali, you can choose either the Denali Scenic Flight* (at your own expense, advance reservation available) or the Talkeetna Jet Boat Tour* (at your own expense, advance reservation available). Due to the schedule, only one option can be selected. We expect to return to Anchorage between 19:00 and 19:30.

Talkeetna

Once a bustling gold-mining hub, Talkeetna still preserves the simple and primitive charm of early Alaska. Log cabins, roadside inns and board-built storefronts line both sides of the town’s only main road. Serving not only as the gateway to Denali and a base camp for mountaineers, Talkeetna is also a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts.

Optional Activities at Own Expense:

Denali Scenic Flight* (Round trip: about 1 or 1.5 hours, with English commentary)

Board a small sightseeing aircraft to overlook the snow-capped Denali and the majestic Alaska Range. Weather permitting, you will have the chance to land on the ancient glaciers of the Alaska Range, experience the stunning scenery surrounded by snow mountains in person and take photos to capture the moment.

Talkeetna Jet Boat Tour* (Round trip: about 2 hours, with English commentary)

The captain will take you on a water sightseeing cruise to enjoy the pristine wilderness scenery of Alaska along both river banks. The straight-line distance from here to Denali Peak, the highest peak in North America, is less than 100 kilometers (about 60 miles). Cruise along the Susitna River through forest trails, venture deep into the river to admire the magnificent natural craftsmanship, and gaze at the towering peaks reaching toward the sky. On clear sunny days, you will be deeply amazed by the imposing Denali rising abruptly from the ground. The itinerary also includes a short shore excursion to visit the hunting camps of Alaska Natives and experience the wilderness survival life of early ancestors.

Day 5: Anchorage – Alaska Glass-Domed Scenic Train – Denali

We plan to depart from the designated hotel at 7:30 a.m., proceed to Anchorage Railway Station to complete check-in procedures, and take the Alaska Glass-Dome Scenic Train* to Denali (train tickets included). We are expected to arrive at Denali Railway Station at 15:40. Upon arrival, we will transfer to the hotel for check-in, after which you will have free time at your own disposal.

Alaska Glass-Dome Scenic Train:

It is one of the most popular summer travel experiences in Alaska. The route from Anchorage to Denali National Park is especially highly sought-after with tickets often selling out quickly. The journey features breathtaking scenery along the way. Equipped with comfortable seats and spacious 180 glass-dome windows, this moving viewing platform heads straight toward Denali Mountain, allowing you to freely photograph the stunning landscapes en route. As you travel across the Alaskan mainland, you will experience the Alaska Scenic Railway, which was built a century ago during the Klondike Gold Rush. Along the journey, you will be treated to continuous stunning views of Denali, the highest peak in North America.

Day 6: Denali – Fairbanks – Hometown

Denali National Park and Preserve

This morning, you may enjoy free leisure time in the Denali National Park area and participate in a variety of outdoor activities in Denali at your own expense to get up close and personal with nature. We plan to depart from the designated hotel at around 14:00 in the afternoon by coach heading to Fairbanks International Airport, with an estimated arrival at approximately 17:00 (Airport Code: FAI). Today marks the end of your entire itinerary as you bid farewell to the beautiful land of Alaska.

Denali National Park

Established in 1917, Denali National Park and Preserve is the second national park founded under the U.S. National Park System, as well as one of the world’s longest continuously protected ecological reserves. The park is home to a wide variety of wildlife and boasts unique pristine natural landscapes including the Alaska Range and frigid zone vegetation. Its diverse and inclusive natural beauty attracts numerous nature lovers from all over the globe. With breathtaking scenery and the fun of wildlife spotting, visitors coming for sightseeing, mountaineering or hiking can all return with wonderful memories.

Denali Scenic Highway Tour (Round trip: about 5 hours with Chinese commentary)

Before departure, the tour guide will assist you in purchasing lunch for the day or you may prepare light meals in advance. Afterwards, we will head to the southern area of Denali and drive along the world-famous Denali Highway renowned for its spectacular scenery, embarking on an adventure to explore the rich and diverse wilderness charm of Denali. You will pass by marshes hidden among dense low shrubs and vast wild blueberry patches, and occasionally spot local wildlife such as moose and Dall sheep. An experienced guide will share knowledge about local flora and fauna along the way and take you to little-known off-the-beaten-path viewing spots. You will also experience a short wilderness hike, which is sure to bring you pleasant surprises. We will have an outdoor picnic today, enjoying a leisurely lunch amid stunning scenery — the perfect way to experience the charm of Denali. (Please remember to pack out all your trash when the activity ends.)

Denali Wilderness ATV Adventure* (Advanced booking recommended; round trip: about 2.5 hours including around 1.5 hours of ATV riding with an English guide)

Ride an amphibious all-terrain vehicle across lake surfaces and race through the wilderness, traversing gravel roads, rocky riverbeds and winding forest trails. Along the way, you can use fixed observation telescopes to spot unique Alaskan wildlife and admire the breathtaking landforms and terrain of Alaska.
