What To Expect
Overview
- This air and river tour is one of the most exhilarating at the Grand Canyon West!
- You will fly from the West Rim air terminal to a private landing spot on the Grand Canyon floor aboard a sightseeing helicopter taking in marvelous views en route. This is the only area in the entire Grand Canyon where you can land at the bottom!
- Once at the bottom of the Canyon, take a short walk to the banks of the Colorado River for a pontoon boat ride down the Colorado River. This peaceful cruise offers great photography opportunities deep in the Grand Canyon. Your guide will provide information about the history and geology of the Colorado River basin. Once you return from the boat ride, walk back to the landing spot, and depart back to Grand Canyon West airport and rim's surface via helicopter.

After returning to the canyon's surface, passengers have the option to purchase a general admission pass, which includes shuttle transportation to various lookout points along the canyon rim. Visit Hualapai Point, a Native American cultural center where you can shop for handmade gifts, grab a bite to eat, or try your hand at the shooting gallery. You can also visit Eagle Point, home to the Grand Canyon Skywalk, a 70-foot horseshoe-shaped glass-bottom bridge extending out from the canyon. There's also Guano Point, where the historic remains of an aerial tramway enhance the surreal vantage point, offer amazing views in every direction. The viewpoints here are some of the most dramatic in the entire canyon.

Self-Drive - Clients must provide their own transportation to Papillon Terminal located at the Grand Canyon West Airport, Peach Springs, Arizona 86434. There is plenty of complimentary parking at our terminal.
Clients arrive at the terminal 30 minutes prior to the flight. All passengers 18 years of age and older must present a government-issued photo ID.
They will depart on this exciting helicopter tour and enjoy a breathtaking descent 4,000 feet into the canyon and land right along the Colorado River.
Board a pontoon boat for a short cruise along the Colorado River.
After the raft trip, depart the canyon floor on a scenic flight back to the Grand Canyon West Terminal.
Standard Fare does not include park entry. Park entry can be purchased separately at Grand Canyon West or by choosing any of our upgrade options.
Total Flight and canyon floor duration are approximately 30-40 minutes.

What if you miss the appointed time or departure date?
Once the booking is confirmed, an absence or failure to show up on the scheduled date or time is a no-show. No refunds or reschedules will be issued for no-shows and late arrivals.
Other important information
- All passengers aged 18 years and older traveling within the United States are required to present either a valid REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or passport. Any customer arriving without original, government-issued identification will be denied check-in, and no refunds will be issued for any guest in the reservation. Photocopies or digital images of identification cannot be accepted.
- Check-in is 30 minutes before the booked tour's start time.
- All helicopter passengers will be weighed at the time of check-in. Papillon will charge passengers weighing 300 pounds (136 kg) or more for an additional comfort seat.
- Pilot gratuity is not included and is left to individual discretion.
- CANCELLATION POLICY: Tour may be changed or cancelled without penalty up to 5 days before departure, subject to availability. Cancellations within 5 days of departure are non-refundable. No-shows will be charged in full with no refund. Flights are subject to cancellation due to lack of passenger demand, weather, etc.
- Baggage Restrictions - Due to limited space, purses, backpacks, and other baggage are not permitted on the aircraft.
- All passengers are required to reconfirm their tour at least 24 hours in advance by contacting our reservations department at 702-736-7243. Please have your reservation number available. Our specialists are available daily from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm (Pacific Time). Reservations without confirmed pick-up information will be wait-listed.
