We plan to depart from the designated hotel in the morning and head to Lake Hood Seaplane Base (approximately 20 minutes away). With an average of 190 seaplane takeoffs and landings daily, it ranks among the world's busiest seaplane bases. From the airport, proceed to Earthquake Park in the northwest of the city (around 10 minutes in total), an ideal spot to admire and photograph the stunning scenery of Cook Inlet. Afterwards, travel to the Ship Creek Riverside Area and the Old Town in the northern part of the city (about 1 hour total). While touring the riverside area, you can enjoy the beautiful coastline and a panoramic view of downtown Anchorage, as well as learn about the local indigenous culture. During the salmon migration season, you may also get the chance to watch large schools of salmon swimming through the waters here. Stroll through the Old Town near 4th and 5th Avenues to appreciate the summer city views, diverse architectures and charming plazas. You will then have around 2 hours of free time to sample local specialties, visit major department stores and art shops run by Alaska Native artists, and enjoy tax-free shopping in this tax-exempt state. We expect to return to the hotel at approximately 17:00.
