# Itinerary:
Calgary - Banff Gondola (at own expense, 90 mins) - Hoodoos (15 mins) - Bow Falls (15 mins) - Surprise Corner (15 mins) - Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel & Lunch (at own expense; French bistro-style meals available for add-on, 90 mins) - Johnston Canyon (60 mins) - Check in to hotel
In the morning, take a coach to Banff National Park and arrive at Sulphur Mountain to ride the Banff Gondola (at own expense). As the gondola ascends slowly, you can admire a snow-laden landscape ringed by rolling mountains blanketed in snow. Afterwards, head to the Hoodoos towering above the banks of the Bow River, and behold the mighty Bow Falls roaring down, where black rock formations contrast beautifully with surging white water just like a grand river surging eastward. Proceed to Surprise Corner for distant views of the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel and the Bow River scenery. Next, tour the Scottish castle-style Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel and stay for lunch at your own cost. After lunch, explore Johnston Canyon, one of the three major canyons in the Rocky Mountains, and follow the trail to the foot of the rushing waterfalls. (In case of force majeure such as park maintenance and closure, the itinerary will be adjusted to visit Lake Minnewanka and Two Jack Lake instead.) Check in to a hotel in Banff in the evening.
# Itinerary:
Banff - Lake Louise (75 mins) - Moraine Lake (60 mins) - Lunch at Lake Louise Village (at your own expense; Grill & Bar lunch add-on available, 45 mins) - Emerald Lake (20 mins) - Natural Bridge (15 mins) - Banff - Calgary
Depart the hotel early in the morning and head west along Highway 1. The steep and rugged Castle Mountain will come into view. Shortly after, you will reach Lake Louise, the most renowned lake in the Rocky Mountains. Bathed in sunlight, its mineral-rich waters shimmer with a mesmerizing sapphire blue, enclosed on three sides by the towering Victoria Glacier. Resembling a jade gem scattered among the mountains, it has earned the moniker "the Sapphire of the Rockies". Glance back from the lakeshore, and the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise stands serenely amid pine forests, welcoming visitors. Afterwards, hike to the top of the trail, where the crystal-clear turquoise waters of seasonal Moraine Lake glisten against the jagged Ten Peaks. From the elevated vantage point, the full panorama of lakes and mountains unfolds before your eyes, making you lose track of time entirely. After leaving Moraine Lake, proceed to Lake Louise Village for lunch (at your own expense; Chinese or Western set meals are available as add-ons). Following lunch, continue westbound, passing through the Spiral Tunnel built through the blood, sweat and tears of Pacific Railway workers to enter Yoho National Park, then arrive at the tranquil Emerald Lake, where red canoes ripple across its calm waters. Next, visit Natural Bridge, carved over thousands of years by the Kicking Horse River. The river channel, ancient pine trees, distant mountains and shallow shoals together form a stunning landscape painting. On the return trip, stop over at Banff Town before driving back to Calgary.
*Moraine Lake: Seasonal Access. Tentative opening period runs from Victoria Day long weekend in May through late September/early October each year, subject to official notices from the national park authority. If Moraine Lake is closed and inaccessible, it will be replaced by Lake Minnewanka (30 mins) and Two Jack Lake (15 mins). The mandatory admission fee for Moraine Lake will be waived in such cases.
