# Itinerary Arrangement
The Rocky Mountaineer departs from Vancouver at 8:00 a.m. Please arrive at the train station at least 60 minutes in advance to complete relevant procedures, with Kamloops as the destination.

The train departs at 8:00 a.m., leaving the coastal city of Vancouver and heading to Kamloops, located in the inland heart of British Columbia. The scenery along the route changes dramatically throughout the day. You will pass lush farmlands in the Fraser Valley, traverse dense forests and winding river valleys surrounded by the peaks of the Coast Mountains and Cascade Range, before entering the arid inland region. Key scenic highlights include the rushing Hell’s Gate in the Fraser Canyon, as well as steep bluffs and rock sheds lining the Thompson River. Breakfast and lunch are served onboard. The train travels along the shore of Kamloops Lake into Kamloops, where a dedicated Rocky Mountaineer shuttle will transfer you to your local hotel for check-in.

The train departs promptly at 08:00 a.m. You must arrive at the station no less than 90 minutes early to complete check-in and baggage drop-off procedures (valid identification documents and your Rocky Mountaineer electronic train ticket are required for presentation).
If you are staying at downtown Vancouver hotels such as Fairmont Waterfront or Pan Pacific Vancouver prior to departure, you may reserve a complimentary shuttle bus to the Rocky Mountaineer Station; advance reservations with our team are mandatory.
Late arrivals will not be permitted to board the train, as the train will not wait for individual passengers. Please allocate ample travel time to reach the station.
All oversized luggage must be checked and cannot be carried onboard the train. Checked baggage will be delivered directly to your overnight accommodation in Kamloops.
Please keep essential items including your passport/identification documents, valuables, camera, and regular medication with you as carry-on luggage.
This is a daylight sightseeing train with no sleeping berths; no stops for alighting will be made en route.
Breakfast and lunch are included onboard. Please notify us in advance if you have any special dietary requirements.
Live English commentary is provided throughout the journey. There is no Wi-Fi available on the train, and smoking is prohibited at all times onboard.
Mountain weather is highly variable. It is recommended to wear comfortable clothing and bring a jacket to accommodate temperature fluctuations.

Kamloops (Board the Rocky Mountaineer) – Check in at Banff Hotel
Depart from your hotel in Kamloops, and you will be transferred by the exclusive Rocky Mountaineer shuttle to Kamloops Railway Station for group boarding procedures. Your journey continues east toward the towering Canadian Rockies, crossing into the province of Alberta. You will travel across expansive ranches, follow rocky lakeshores, cross rugged mountain passes, and pass through renowned tunnels in the railway history of the Canadian Rockies, with breathtaking scenery along the way to captivate your eyes.
Key sights of the day include Craigellachie, the site where the final spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway was driven. The train will pass through Rogers Pass, Kicking Horse River Valley and Spiral Tunnels, alongside glaciers and snow-capped peaks of the Canadian Rockies.
Upon arrival at the resort town of Banff, your rail journey comes to an end. You will be transferred to a local hotel in Banff for an overnight stay.

The train is scheduled to arrive in Banff Town at 18:00. Arrival may be earlier or delayed subject to operational conditions, and your understanding is appreciated. A ground guide for the Rocky Mountain section will contact you in the evening to confirm the boarding time and location for the following day.
Passengers who arrive late will not be allowed to board as the train will not wait for individuals. Please ensure you leave ample time to reach the station.
Large luggage must be checked in and cannot be carried onto the train; checked luggage will be delivered directly to your hotel for the night.

In the morning, take a coach to [Banff National Park] and arrive at Sulphur Mountain, where you will board the [Banff Gondola (at your own expense)] (90 minutes for sightseeing). As the gondola glides upward slowly, you can admire the snow-covered mountain scenery surrounded by rolling peaks. Afterwards, head to [Hoodoos] standing above the banks of the Bow River (15 minutes for sightseeing), then visit the magnificent [Bow Falls] (15 minutes for sightseeing). The waterfall surges downward, just like the mighty river rushing eastward, with black rocks set off against white rushing water, forming a striking picturesque contrast. Next, proceed to [Surprise Corner] (15 minutes for sightseeing) to get distant views of the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel and the Bow River scenery. You will then enter and tour the Scottish castle-style Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, where you will stop for lunch at your own expense (90 minutes of stay time). After lunch, explore [Johnston Canyon], one of the three major canyons in the Canadian Rockies (60 minutes for sightseeing), and walk along the trail to the foot of the rushing waterfalls. (In case of force majeure such as scenic area maintenance and closure, the sightseeing spot will be replaced with Lake Minnewanka and Two Jack Lake.) Check into the hotel in Banff for the night.

Banff - Lake Louise (75 mins) - Moraine Lake (60 mins) - Lunch at Lake Louise Village (at own expense; Grill & Bar lunch add-on available, 45 mins) - Emerald Lake (20 mins) - Natural Bridge (15 mins) - Banff
Depart the hotel early in the morning and head west along Highway 1. The steep and rugged Castle Mountain comes into view, and shortly after, you will arrive at Lake Louise, the most renowned lake in the Rocky Mountains. Bathed in sunlight, the mineral-rich lake water shimmers with a breathtaking sapphire blue, enclosed on three sides by the towering Victoria Glacier. Resembling a jade gem scattered among the mountains, it earns the moniker "Sapphire of the Rockies". Glance back from the lakeshore, and the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise stands serenely amid pine forests, welcoming visitors. Afterwards, hike to the top of the trail to reach seasonal Moraine Lake*. Its translucent turquoise waters reflect the jagged Ten Peaks. Standing at the vantage point, you will take in the full panorama of lakes and mountains, losing all sense of time. After leaving Moraine Lake, proceed to Lake Louise Village for lunch (at own expense; Chinese or Western plated meals available as add-ons). Following lunch, continue west, passing the Spiral Tunnels built with the blood, sweat and tears of Canadian Pacific Railway workers to enter Yoho National Park. You will then reach the tranquil Emerald Lake, where red canoes ripple across the calm turquoise water. Next, visit Natural Bridge, formed over thousands of years by erosion from the Kicking Horse River. The waterway, dark pine forests, distant snow-capped peaks and shallow shoals together form a stunning natural painting. On the return trip, stop at Banff Town before driving back to Calgary.
*Moraine Lake: Seasonal access only. General opening window is from Victoria Day long weekend in May through late September/early October, subject to official notice from Parks Canada. If the lake is closed and inaccessible, the alternative attractions will be Lake Minnewanka (30 mins) and Two Jack Lake (15 mins). The mandatory Moraine Lake entry fee will be waived in such cases.

Depart from your hotel in Banff in the morning, and catch distant views of Crowfoot Glacier along the way. First, visit Bow Lake for a 20-minute sightseeing stop, then proceed to Peyto Lake where you will stay for 30 minutes. In case of force majeure such as scenic area maintenance and closure, Waterfowl Lake will be substituted as the alternative attraction. This maple-leaf-shaped lake lies like a turquoise ribbon embedded in the valleys of the Rocky Mountains. Afterwards, travel along the picturesque Highway 93 Icefields Parkway, and stop at The Crossing for a 30-minute lunch break (at your own expense; buffet lunch can be booked as an add-on). After lunch, head to the Columbia Icefield and board the Snowcoach (at your own expense) for a 90-minute tour. Walk atop the Athabasca Glacier and witness the natural accumulation formed over hundreds of millions of years. Make a stop at Banff Town before returning to Calgary.
*Ice Explorer Snowcoach operates from May 1 to October 12. Starting October 13, the itinerary will include a stop at the scenic spot, and the mandatory Snowcoach activity will not be available for add-on booking.
When weather permits: Guests may take an easy 60-minute hike up the hillside in front of the glacier to get an up-close view of the icefield scenery.
In poor weather conditions: Follow the tour guide’s arrangement to view the glacier from a distance, with an extra stop at Waterfowl Lake added to the itinerary.
