Itinerary:
Calgary - Johnston Canyon (75 mins) - Banff Gondola (self-paid, 90 mins) - Banff Town: Hoodoos / Bow Falls / Surprise Corner
Depart in the early morning for Banff National Park, Canada’s oldest national park. As the drive winds deeper into the mountains, grasslands give way to towering peaks, marking the official start of your journey into the heart of the Canadian Rockies.
First, visit Johnston Canyon, one of the three major canyons in the Rockies. Hike along the trail deep into the canyon to get up-close views of crystal-clear streams and tiered waterfalls. (If the scenic area is under maintenance or affected by other force majeure events, the trip will be adjusted to Lake Minnewanka and Two Jack Lake.) Afterwards, head to Banff Town with free time for lunch. You may pick local restaurants or cafs at your leisure to soak up the laid-back vibe of this national park town. In the afternoon, take the Banff Gondola (self-paid) up Sulphur Mountain for panoramic vistas of the Bow River Valley, Banff Town and the sprawling mountain ranges. Overnight stay at a hotel in Banff.
After descending the mountain, proceed to visit the Hoodoos to admire the rock spires shaped by natural erosion. Next, go to Bow Falls to witness the powerful rush of cascading rapids up close. The final stop is Surprise Corner, where you can gaze out at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel and the Bow River scenery, bringing a leisurely end to the day’s itinerary.
*The Hoodoos site will remain closed until July 1; the alternative attraction will be Vermilion Lakes (approx. 15 minutes’ visit).
Itinerary:
Banff → Crowfoot Glacier → Peyto Lake (30 mins) → Icefields Parkway → Lunch (at your own expense; buffet lunch upgrade available, 45 mins) → Ice Explorer & Glacier Skywalk (mandatory extra charge, 150 mins) → Athabasca Falls (30 mins) → Jasper, hotel check-in
Depart from your hotel in Banff in the morning and catch distant views of Crowfoot Glacier along the route, then arrive at Peyto Lake. If the site is closed due to force majeure such as facility maintenance, Waterfowl Lake will be arranged as an alternative. This maple-leaf-shaped lake resembles an azure ribbon embedded in the valleys of the Rocky Mountains. Afterwards, buffet lunch (self-paid) will be served at The Crossing Resort. Continue along the scenic Highway 93 Icefields Parkway to the Icefield Centre, where you will board the mandatory Ice Explorer to travel across Athabasca Glacier and witness natural formations built up over millions of years. You may also step onto the 280-metre-high mandatory Glacier Skywalk for sweeping panoramic views of Sunwapta Valley; when mist rises, it feels like walking among clouds. Next, head to Athabasca Falls, a waterfall carved by glacial meltwater with a 23-metre drop, before driving to your hotel in Jasper Town for check-in.
*Ice Explorer & Glacier Skywalk (mandatory extra charge)* operate from May 1 to October 12.
Starting October 13, the itinerary will only include stops at scenic spots, with no Ice Explorer or Glacier Skywalk activities included.
On clear weather days: Guests may take an easy hike up the hills in front of the glacier (around 60 minutes) to get up-close views of the glacial landscape.
On poor weather days: The tour guide will arrange distant viewing of the glacier, with an extra stop at Waterfowl Lake added to the schedule.
## Itinerary:
Jasper → Medicine Lake → Maligne Lake (Optional 90-minute cruise) → Lunch at Maligne Lake (Optional, 45 minutes) → The Crossing → Bow Lake (20 minutes) → Banff / Calgary
Depart from your hotel in Jasper and pass by Medicine Lake. At the far end lies Maligne Lake, the world’s second-largest glacial lake. Take the optional seasonal Maligne Lake Cruise to drift across the 22-kilometre-long lake and slowly approach Spirit Island, known as "the place where gods gather". After the optional lunch at Maligne Lake, head to Maligne Canyon, the longest and deepest canyon in the Rocky Mountains. Due to the 2024 wildfires, this stop may be replaced by Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge and Beauvert Lake subject to national park opening status. Carved by glacial erosion, the canyon features deep, rugged rock formations with breathtaking scenery. Continue south along the Icefields Parkway, stop for a rest at The Crossing, then visit scenic Bow Lake before heading south back to Banff.
*The optional Maligne Lake Cruise operates from May 29 to October 11. Schedules are subject to change based on lake ice melt. When cruises are unavailable, the alternate itinerary includes a 45-minute stop at Pyramid Lake and a 15-minute stop at Patricia Lake.
### Pyramid Lake
It gets its name from the symmetrical triangular mountain above it, whose rock faces contain pyrite that weathers into pink and orange hues, giving the slopes a gilded glow. Far quieter and more untouched than popular Maligne Lake, Pyramid Lake offers serene natural beauty. Its calm waters mirror the towering Pyramid Mountain, forming a natural landscape painting on clear days. Stroll across the wooden footbridge to the small island as breezes ripple across the lake; distant snow-capped peaks blend with pine forests to create a picturesque scene. It is Jasper’s ideal spot to slow down and soak in the quiet magic of the Rockies.
*Maligne Canyon may be substituted with Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge and Beauvert Lake (30 minutes total) depending on national park access, due to the 2024 wildfires.
### Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge
This century-old log cabin resort stands as an iconic landmark of Jasper. Scattered among forests and lakes, its rustic log architecture preserves the charm of Canada’s Western frontier while delivering luxurious comfort. Countless international celebrities have stayed here, where guests can admire sweeping mountain vistas and experience classic Rocky Mountain resort culture.
### Beauvert Lake
Beauvert Lake is an emerald gem tucked away in the woods, with uniquely turquoise waters that shift shades with changing light. Less crowded than better-known lakes, it boasts equally stunning natural scenery. Its glassy surface reflects surrounding snow peaks and pine forests, making it a hidden favourite among photographers and nature lovers.
Itinerary:
Breakfast is on your own for the day. Afterwards, we will head to visit Lake Louise, known as the Gem of the Rockies. You will have ample time to stroll along the lakeshore, where the mirror-like water reflects the majestic mountain peaks and glaciers. Enjoy a hearty lunch at the Lake Louise Chateau Dining Room (meals included for group travellers), an absolute delight in life. After lunch, we will proceed to Moraine Lake, surrounded by the Ten Peaks and boasting picturesque scenery (if Moraine Lake is closed on the day, the trip will be redirected to Emerald Lake instead). After sightseeing, we will travel back to British Columbia via Glacier National Park and arrive in Vernon at dusk, with dinner served at a local restaurant.
Itinerary:
After breakfast, head to the Okanagan Wine Region to visit the renowned winery that hosted a state banquet for Queen Elizabeth II. Professional staff will introduce the production processes of red, white and ice wines, and demonstrate wine-tasting techniques. Tour members will also get the chance to sample a variety of fine wines.
Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. After lunch, proceed to the famous Lake Monster Lake, the legendary habitat of OGOPOGO, the lake monster from Indigenous myths.
Later, travel back to Vancouver via the Fraser Valley and disembark at Richmond Grand Park Hotel in Vancouver at dusk.
If you have a departure flight on the same day, please arrange a flight taking off after 10 PM, or book an extra night’s accommodation in Vancouver.
