Itinerary:
Calgary - Johnston Canyon (75 mins) - Banff Gondola (at own expense, 90 mins) - Banff Town: Hoodoos / Bow Falls / Surprise Corner
Depart in the early morning and head for Banff National Park, Canada’s oldest national park. As the drive winds deeper into the mountains, grasslands give way to towering peaks, marking the official entry into the heart of the Canadian Rockies.
First, visit Johnston Canyon, one of the three major canyons in the Rockies. Hike along the trail deep into the canyon to get an up-close view of crystal-clear streams and cascading waterfalls. (In case of park maintenance or other force majeure, the trip will be rerouted to Lake Minnewanka and Two Jack Lake.) Afterwards, proceed to Banff Town with free time for lunch. You may pick local restaurants or cafes to soak up the laid-back vibe of this national park town. In the afternoon, ride the Banff Gondola (at own expense) up Sulphur Mountain for panoramic vistas of the Bow River Valley, Banff Town and endless mountain ranges. Overnight at a hotel in Banff.
After descending the mountain, stop by the Hoodoos to admire the unique rock spires shaped by natural erosion. Next, head to Bow Falls to witness the mighty rush of surging water plunging down. The final stop is Surprise Corner, where you can overlook the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel and the Bow River, bringing a leisurely close to the day’s itinerary.
*The Hoodoos site will remain closed until July 1; the alternative attraction will be Vermilion Lakes (approx. 15 minutes).
Itinerary:
Banff - Crowfoot Glacier - Bow Lake (20 minutes) - Peyto Lake (30 minutes) - Icefields Parkway - Lunch (at your own expense; buffet lunch available for additional booking, 45 minutes) - Snowcoach (mandatory extra payment, 90 minutes) - Banff
Depart from Calgary or Banff in the morning and catch distant views of Crowfoot Glacier along the way. First visit Bow Lake, where the distinct silhouette of the Rocky Mountains reflects perfectly on the lake surface. You may also stop by Num-Ti-Jah Lodge by the lakeside to learn the story of Jimmy Simpson, a legendary Rocky Mountains guide. Afterwards, head to Peyto Lake. In case of force majeure such as scenic area maintenance and closure, Waterfowl Lake will be arranged as an alternative. This maple-leaf-shaped lake resembles a turquoise ribbon embedded in the valleys of the Rockies. A self-pay buffet lunch will then be provided at The Crossing Resort. Continue along the scenic Highway 93, the Icefields Parkway, to the Icefield Centre, where you will board the Ice Explorer Snowcoach to travel across the Athabasca Glacier and witness nature’s accumulation over millions of years. Finally, drive back to Calgary to conclude the trip.
*The Ice Explorer Snowcoach operates from May 1 to October 12. Starting October 13, the tour will only stop at scenic spots without the snowcoach activity as an add-on.
In good weather: Guests may take an easy 60-minute hike up the hills in front of the glacier to experience the icefield scenery up close.
In poor weather: Follow the tour guide’s arrangement to view the glacier from a distance, with an extra stop at Waterfowl Lake added to the itinerary.
Itinerary:
Breakfast is at your own expense on the day. Afterwards, head to visit Lake Louise, known as the Gem of the Rockies. You will have ample time to stroll along the lakeshore, where the mirror-like water surface reflects the majestic mountain peaks and glaciers. Enjoy a hearty lunch at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise (meals included for group tourists), a truly delightful experience in life. After lunch, proceed to Moraine Lake, surrounded by the Ten Peaks and boasting picturesque scenery. (If Moraine Lake is closed on the day, Emerald Lake will be substituted instead.)
After sightseeing, travel through Glacier National Park back to British Columbia, and arrive in Vernon at dusk, with dinner served at a local restaurant.
Itinerary:
After breakfast, head to the Okanagan Wine Region to visit the renowned winery that supplied wine for Queen Elizabeth II's state banquets. Dedicated staff will introduce the production processes of red, white and ice wine and demonstrate wine-tasting techniques. Tour members will also get to sample a variety of fine wines.
Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. After lunch, proceed to the famous Lake Okanagan, the legendary habitat of the Ogopogo lake monster from Indigenous myths.
Later, travel back to Vancouver via the Fraser Valley and arrive to disembark at Richmond Grand Park Hotel in Vancouver at dusk.
