Afterwards, head to the Hoodoos towering above the Bow River bank, then view the mighty Bow Falls where raging water surges down. Dark rocks contrast vividly with white rushing currents, presenting a spectacular scene reminiscent of mighty rivers surging eastward. Next, proceed to Surprise Corner for distant views of the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel and the Bow River. You will then visit the Scottish castle-style Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel and stop here for lunch at your own cost. After lunch, explore Johnston Canyon, one of the three major canyons in the Rocky Mountains, and follow the trail to the foot of the rushing waterfalls. Banff – Lake Louise (75 mins) – Moraine Lake (60 mins) – Lunch at Lake Louise Village (at own expense; Grill & Bar lunch add-on available, 45 mins) – Emerald Lake (20 mins) – Natural Bridge (15 mins) – Banff – Calgary

Depart the hotel early in the morning and head west along Highway 1, also known as the Trans-Canada Highway. The rugged, imposing Castle Mountain comes into view, and shortly afterward you will arrive at Lake Louise, the most famous lake in the Rocky Mountains. Under the sunlight, the mineral-rich lake water shimmers with a mesmerizing sapphire blue, enclosed on three sides by the towering Victoria Glacier. Resembling a jade gem scattered among the mountains, it has earned the moniker "Jewel of the Rockies". Glancing back from the lakeshore, the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise stands serenely amid pine forests, welcoming visitors. Next, climb to the top of the trail, where the vivid turquoise waters of seasonal Moraine Lake reflect the jagged Ten Peaks. From this vantage point, the entire lake and mountain scenery unfolds before your eyes, making time slip away unnoticed. After leaving Moraine Lake, proceed to Lake Louise Village for lunch (at own expense; Chinese or Western plated meals available as add-ons). Following lunch, continue west, passing the Spiral Tunnels carved through the mountains by Pacific Railway labourers before entering Yoho National Park. You will then reach the secluded Emerald Lake, where red canoes ripple across its tranquil surface. Afterwards, visit Natural Bridge, a rock formation carved gradually by the Kicking Horse River over millennia. The river channel, ancient pines, distant peaks and shallow sandbars together form a stunning natural landscape. On the return journey, stop over in Banff Town before driving back to Calgary.

*Moraine Lake: Seasonal access only. Typical operating season runs from Victoria Day long weekend in May through late September to early October, subject to official notices from Parks Canada. If the lake is closed and inaccessible during your trip, it will be replaced with a 30-minute stop at Lake Minnewanka plus a 15-minute stop at Two Jack Lake.
