## Itinerary Arrangement:
Calgary - Crowfoot Glacier - Peyto Lake (30 mins) - Icefields Parkway - Lunch (at own expense; buffet lunch available for additional booking, 45 mins) - Ice Explorer & Glacier Skywalk (at own expense, 150 mins) - Athabasca Falls (30 mins) - Check-in at hotel in Jasper
Depart from your hotel in Calgary in the morning. You will catch distant views of Crowfoot Glacier along the route before arriving at Peyto Lake. If the scenic area is closed for maintenance or affected by other force majeure events, the itinerary will be adjusted to visit Waterfowl Lake instead. This maple-leaf-shaped lake resembles a turquoise ribbon embedded in the valleys of the Rocky Mountains. Afterwards, a buffet lunch at your own expense will be arranged at The Crossing Resort. Continue driving along the picturesque Icefields Parkway (Highway 93) to reach the Icefield Centre, where you may board the Ice Explorer (self-funded) to travel across the Athabasca Glacier and witness natural formations built up over millions of years. You can also step onto the 280-metre-high Glacier Skywalk (self-funded) for panoramic views of the Sunwapta Valley; when mist rolls in, you will feel as if walking among the clouds. Later, head to Athabasca Falls, a waterfall formed by glacial meltwater erosion with a vertical drop of 23 metres. Finally, drive to Jasper Town and check into your hotel.
*Operating hours for Ice Explorer and Glacier Skywalk (self-funded activities): May 1 – October 12.*
From October 13 onwards, the tour will only stop at the scenic spots, and bookings for Ice Explorer and Glacier Skywalk will no longer be available.
On clear weather days: Guests may take an easy 60-minute hike up the hills in front of the glacier for an up-close experience of the glacial landscape.
On poor weather days: Following the tour guide’s arrangement, guests will view the glacier from a distance, and Waterfowl Lake will be added as an extra stop to the itinerary.
# Itinerary Arrangement:
Jasper – Medicine Lake – Maligne Lake (Self-paid cruise, 90 minutes) – Lunch at Maligne Lake (Self-paid, 45 minutes) – The Crossing – Bow Lake (20 minutes) – Banff, hotel check-in
Depart from your hotel in Jasper and pass by Medicine Lake. At the end of the lake lies Maligne Lake, the world’s second-largest glacial lake. Board the seasonal Maligne Lake Cruise (self-paid)* and drift across the 22-kilometre-long lake, slowly approaching Spirit Island, known as "the meeting place of gods". After the self-paid lunch at Maligne Lake, proceed to Maligne Canyon*, the longest and deepest canyon in the Rocky Mountains. Due to the impact of the 2024 wildfires, this stop may be replaced with Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge and Lake Beauvert depending on the opening status of the national park. Carved by glacial erosion, the canyon features deep, jagged rock formations and breathtaking scenery. Afterwards, drive south along the Icefields Parkway, stop for a rest at The Crossing, then visit Bow Lake for photos with its wide-open views, before heading south back to Banff.
*Operating hours for the self-paid Maligne Lake Cruise: May 29 to October 11. The schedule is subject to change based on lake ice melt conditions. When the cruise is unavailable, the alternative itinerary includes Pyramid Lake (45 minutes) and Patricia Lake (15 minutes).
Maligne Canyon* may be substituted with Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge and Lake Beauvert (30 minutes in total) subject to the national park’s opening status due to the 2024 wildfires.
# Itinerary Arrangement:
Banff – Lake Louise (75 mins) – Moraine Lake (60 mins) – Lunch at Lake Louise Village (self-paid; Grill & Bar set meals available for additional booking, 45 mins) – Emerald Lake (20 mins) – Natural Bridge (15 mins) – Banff – Calgary
Depart from the hotel early in the morning and head west along Highway 1. The steep and imposing Castle Mountain will come into view, and shortly after, you will reach Lake Louise, the most renowned lake in the Rocky Mountains. Under the sunlight, the mineral-rich lake water shimmers with captivating sapphire blue, enclosed on three sides by the towering Victoria Glacier. Resembling a jade gem scattered among the mountains, it earns the moniker "Sapphire of the Rockies". Glance back from the lakeshore, and you will see Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise standing serenely amid pine forests, welcoming visitors. Afterwards, hike to the top of the trail, where the crystal-clear turquoise waters of seasonal Moraine Lake* reflect the jagged Ten Peaks. Standing at the vantage point, you can take in the full panoramic beauty of the lake and mountains, losing all sense of time. After leaving Moraine Lake, proceed to Lake Louise Village for lunch (self-paid; Chinese or Western plated meals can be booked as an add-on). Post-lunch, continue westbound, passing through the Spiral Tunnel built through the arduous labour of Pacific Railway workers to enter Yoho National Park, then arrive at the secluded Emerald Lake, where red canoes create ripples across the tranquil water surface. Next, visit Natural Bridge, formed over thousands of years by erosion from the Kicking Horse River. The waterway, ancient pine trees, distant peaks and shallow shoals together form a breathtaking landscape painting. On the return journey, make a stop at Banff Town before driving back to Calgary.
*Moraine Lake: Seasonal Access. The typical open period runs from the Victoria Day long weekend in May through late September to early October each year, subject to official notices from the national park authority. If the lake is closed and inaccessible, the substitute attractions will be Lake Minnewanka (30 mins) and Two Jack Lake (15 mins), and the mandatory entry fee for Moraine Lake will be waived.
